Re: clogged DC6000
Cameras/smart phones . . . store an orientation code of how the device was held when pix was taken.
The forum software IGNORES that code.
IIRC the forum software assumes a raw dump of the pix as the device 'sees' it.
So external help is needed (Irfanview. . .) to rotate the data hence the ...

Re: clogged DC6000
I don't own a SS dust collector so I have no personal experience. But IMO, just from looking at pictures, the little tiny filter bag on top is woefully inadequate. It needs MUCH more surface area, especially if the bag is 1- or 2-micron. A bag double or treble the height would be better, a ...

Re: clogged DC6000
Who knows, your DC-6000 may be even more powerful than what your meter shows. Up to you if you want to take more measurements or not. It is fun. I was just trying to point out some of the limitations we have, both in testing and in interpreting the data. Thanks for giving us another datapoint on ...

Re: clogged DC6000
Thanks guys for your detailed feedback.
I'm pretty sure I had at least two ports open at the same time these clogs took place. The next time I plane, I'll try shutting it down to the one port. It's such a hassle to take the manifold off to unclog it, I'm hesitant to test it until I need the planer ...

Re: clogged DC6000
Thanks for sharing that @Claimdude.
I have the DC6000 attached to a Dewalt 7354 w/Sheilix head. It has never clogged up.
I've been thinking about upgrading my Shopsmith Pro Planer cutterrhead to a helix one. I'll search through the forum to see what experience folks have had doing that ...

Wow. That's interesting. Thank you.HopefulSSer wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:36 am I don't have a SS dust collector, but instead a Delta. But with the jointer and my (non-SS) planer I had the same problem until I added a separator upstream of the collector. It seems to be a universal problem.
