Unexspected Good News

:) I had posted my disappointment with a recent order. The order was not correct and the solution was me to send back the wrong parts before the company sent the correct parts... After some talking they decided to send it out, but when I called on status I found that everything was delayed due to lo...

Rust on bits & pieces

Customer Service Fail

I love my shopsmith and over the years have had good to great support. But my last three orders have all been delayed, wrong or all of the above. Just ordered a miter alignment jig and the sectional jig. Pricey but I needed it so I pulled the trigger. Called to verify avail, then place order online....

under bench special tool cart

Due to age and a bad back it is hard to lift my SPT's off the shelf where I currently store them. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a cart that would slide under a workbench?

Re: Mark 7 Manual 522812

 I found the manual useful for the info on the new digital controls. It had some charts I made into quick ref. cards.

:) I had the same issue. Somebody on the site suggested an extender that mounts in the tail rest. It moves the tail rest to the left and then you can position the tool rest so that you can move it in close to the work. I also found that the universal base works well if you are doing multiple pens. I...

Great work and a nice tribute to your father-in-law. Hope we can pass on some of this to our younger folks. I just made some pens and pencils for my nephew out of zebra wood that his grandfather had given me before he passed away. It is a beautiful wood. What did you use for the finish?

It will work well in the Shopsmith. If you have the lift assist on your Shopsmith get a tailstock extension and put the mandrel saver in it then mount in your tailstock. It allows very easy pen a7 stopper turning.

Years ago I had trouble with a tailstock chuck coming out, solved the issue with a temp fix. I took a small "c" clamp and clamped onto the back side of the Morse taper. This worked till I replaced the eccentric hub in my tailstock.
