A company that makes a huge selection of the molding knives for the Craftsman molding head is corrobcutters.com. They also make the knives for Shopsmith but only provide them to Shopsmith for retail sale. Although very similar these are not interchangeable on the respective molder heads. Phil Sargeant

I too have purchased the MLCS jigs and have found them to be very well worth the money. In fact, I have purchased a number of items from them and have yet to be disappointed with customer service and the quality of their products.

Cleaning blades

I was cutting some wood with my bandsaw today which left a lot of pitch on both the wheels and the blade. I was having trouble getting the blade cleaned with a spray-on type blade and bit cleaner. I remember hearing a suggestion that Oxy-Clean worked very well to clean gunk off saw blades so I decid...

[quote="wlhayesmfs"]I was lucky enough to be at a Wal-Mart when they closed a video store and threw out all the counters and drawers in a dumpster. So I bought them home to make cabinets in my shop. This was a piece of a counter that is 1 & 3/4" thick. I made it the same width as ...

I know you can buy the heavy duty contractor bags in both 45 and 55 gallon sizes that appear to be of heavier plastic than even the Shopsmith ones but I have only seen them in black color. I do intend to try them when I run out of my proprietary Shopsmith supply.

Is there something special about the plastic bags designed for the dust collector except that they are of clear plastic and the contents easily determined ? Has anyone used a regular trash bag?

To solve the problem of misplaced hardware, I use small ziploc bags and write on the outside what hardware they contain. I then put them in a special drawer so I know where to go looking when I need something. I have been doing this for at least ten years and have never had a problem with the writin...

I realized today that the table insert that I was referring to in my previous post of this thread is designed for the molder head and is not the dado insert. That explains why my 7" dado set wouldn't work with it and so it looks like I will be ordering a dado table insert this next week. I am g...
