Well looks like I have to take the idler shaft out again, I've done it before, so it's not like it's anything new, just didn't want to have to do it again. Thanks for all of your help!!

Thanks Bill, I'll look at it again, no other way besides taking out the speed quadrant huh, quess thats easier than taking out the idler shaft again.
Guess some day I need to buy a new headstock, don't have an extra 1100.00 at the moment. Thanks again.....Curly

Thanks wa2crk, but it's not my v-drive belt(I replaced my gilmer drive belt) there's just not enough room at the top of the headstock housing to get the belt thru, I don't want to have to take the idler shaft out again. Thanks!!

Changing drive belt on 54' greenie, HELP!!

Hi Guys!! been awhile, well any way I need to change my drive belt(started smoking)(terrible smell) I've dropped the motor, which I'm finally gonna replace with the new 1hp, but there's not enough room to get the belt off from the top of the idler sheave, any sugestions, I sure would appreciate some...

Thanks Chuck!! and batg4, I tried calling shopsmith earlier, even before there new hours, (before 5 est) must be still a little ruff after the layoffs.
Well I have it punched in my gps, no worries now.
Now if I can just sleep tonight!!! LOL!!!

Lathe tool rest

Hi guys!! I was just wondering if you know if there is a larger tool rest avalible than the 4"er, I bought my SS used, it came with a few acc. but no tool rest, I bought the turning package, and the one they offer is the 4"er. I've noticed larger one's in pic's but I can't seem to find one...

Hi Paul, I have a Nova chuck, have yet to use it. I guess just haven't been sure on how much weight it can hold. By the way what is a Jam chuck or cole jaws? never heard of them? Thanks!!

Weekend Blog

Well lets see...spent most of my weekend finishing a bowl I've been working on, spent most of it sanding. As most of you know I had a little trouble with some end grain, and with some very good sugestions from some of you guys I got'em all out. the bowl looks Great!!! It's made out of Canary wood(Be...
