Tim: After starting this post and looking at some of the other DC's, I agree that for my needs the SS one is a good bet. At $399 I would also jump at it. Unfortunately the Canadian distributor does not seem to be offering the same packages that are offered in the States and the price here is $625. I...

I don't know much about them but I believe some of the newer fluoresent bulbs are made for newer fixtures only. They may be a little thinner or have a label stating theare for a certain fixture so you might want to verify that. I had some that flickered as well then went back to an older model and t...

I'm almost sorry I asked!

Hopefully the rest of the week will go smoother.

Weekend Blog - April 2nd

This was a fairly productive weekend. First the shop was cleaned and the adjoining area cleared of all tools and other items in preparation for the installation of a sump pump tomorrow. Not a moment too soon as the rain has started and the old basement is letting water seep in through the foundation...

I bought the wood one a couple of years after obtaining my 510 and am really glad I did. It keeps all my most used accessories right at hand and solved the problem of where to store them. Making one would be a fun project but I like to use my time making other things so I tend to buy storage items, ...

I have had this happen and in each case the riving knife was not fully inserted in the slot due to interference from the lower saw guard, or my quill was not completely retracted which put the allignment off slightly.

Good luck.

This is the first weekend in a long time that absolutely nothing was done in the shop. Though the doll cradle mentioned last week was finished during the week, family events took over on the weekend and excluded any time for playing with the toys. I did get down there to survey the mess and realize ...

I am having the same problem with my 510 when used in the drill press position. It is long overdue for a cleaning so I will find out soon if sawdust is the problem or something.

I did some thing similar once with a table. I was able to saw through the joint and reassemble using pocket screws. In your case you might be able to use dowels to rejoin the parts. Just a thought. John PS: What I forgot to mention was that the saw was a hand saw used to cut plugs flat with a worksu...

Weekend Blog

I thought I would take an idea from another forum that I visit and start a thread on what was done over the weekend or just what projects we are working on. Personally, I was putting what I thought would be the finishing touches on an oak doll cradle that I have been working on for the past couple o...
