Thank you folks, I will call SS from work and find out. It has my curiosity. The bolts vs. studs part totally makes sense to me though so I had better go out and see how my tubes are mounted. I got my spring project days in the mail today. I upgraded my 500 to a 510 using parts from another source than SS :o I see the upgrade from 510 to 520 with two version for 1986 or later and prior to 1986. Does anyone know what the difference would be?

I have to agree with Randy, My shop is a lean too built off the side of a tuff shed single car garage. it is 20'x12' with three 3x4 windows. I wish I had the wall space for hanging things.

That's our saying here in Oklahoma. Because of the great weather and all the tree limbs I havn't been able to play with my ss for awhile. We have tornado watch tonight. Weather radio just went off again.

Now I understand the thingy ;) . Thank you for the knowledge. This forum has turned out to be a wonder. I sure hope Shopsmith management understands how much this is helping their company. There is no better product line giving this much knowledge of thier equipment. You guys deserve a big thank you.

Lathe method question on #10

I can't watch live but I can after the fact. Watching the cabriole turning I was wondering if using the tailstock offset thingy I don't know the actual name of it, could accomplish the same as having two centers for turning.I could see myself having troubles with having the center close to the edge ...
