The other old tip from Nick / Jim. was to keep the planer bed waxed. But knife sharpness is first.

There is a whole mindset to lathe turning, in which you keep the exact same center mount method through as many steps as possible. The Screw Center in fact enforces this mindset more than a scroll chuck would do. It can be enjoyable to think through the steps when crafting a turning.

Trying to remember my Chevy's glitch from the 2024 summer. Whatever it was, once I got some Shell V-Power 'detergent' gas and really wrung out the engine, my fault went away. During the fault, I inferred the exhaust was deemed "rich" and the control system kept reducing fuel injector duty ...

It's been a while, but I've made up a couple of watch straps lately. The Shopsmith power sanding tools are handy for leather work...
