Thank you Bob and Nick. This is the answer I was looking for. I agree that the preferred way to fix this would be with the new idler shaft and I want to do that to bring the machine into spec. However time and $$$ will have to delay that and I will go with a bushing for now. In fact I hope to update...

Update to my coupling problem.....the 503572 part number is the 5 spline hub with a 1/2" shaft hole that goes on the jointer side if the coupler. I already have that one installed. Tech support gave me the number for the 4 spline drive hub for the headstock however when it arrived it is the sam...
