Re: WHAT A CHORE - It has never been so hard!

I guess I am old enough to remember many election that would change the course of our nation. Perhaps they did, perhaps they didn't and we would have morphed into our present state regardless. I happen to be a Second Amendment guy, so you know how I will vote, but we each have our priorities. If you...

Re: Bandsaw throwing circuit

I had the good fortune, or bad luck, of having my house destroyed by the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. My home was taken down to the foundation and re-engineered in the rebuild. I worked with the contractor, so my garage/shop has a 20amp dedicated circuit for the SS and SS dust collection vacuum. I tu...

Re: Bandsaw throwing circuit

Thanks, I do think I had the coupler too tight. But lubricating everything was probably a good idea anyway. Works great now.

Re: Bandsaw throwing circuit

It's working! I never gave my SS a name, but perhaps a female name would be appropriate. It just wanted me to pay more attention. Anyway, perhaps the lubrication just sunk in, or perhaps I had the plastic connection pressed in too tight, (I re-adjusted it twice before). Anyway, I just finished 4 mor...

Bandsaw throwing circuit

Can't figure out what is the problem with my SS 520 bandsaw. The main drive using the tablesaw, drillpress or the lathe work just fine. When I use the left side powerdrive I throw the circuit breaker. I cleaned the bandsaw innards, lubricated the wheels at the bearings, checked the spacing on the co...

Re: Redwood

I love working with Redwood. It is soft and splinters so must be handled with care, but it finishes beautifully. A drive up the Redwood Highway, 101 in California will show some lovely turnings and carvings. I like Redwood for intarsia and small projects. It is also a good base for stone inlay.
Enjoy.

Re: What is waste wood?

Lovely ornament. As for waste wood, it is an oxymoron. I keep all my small wood cutoff in clear totes, sorted sort of by color. When the tote is full I usually find another tote. :)

Re: Belt buckles

I purchased the beltbuckle hardware a few years ago from Rings & Things, on line. Item #30-193 Buckle Blank, Nickel Silver, White 1x2" Basically two pieces, the belt loop and a flat metal mount with the belt hook welded on. Two holes permit attachment with micro screws (not included) On oth...

Belt buckles

I saw a clip art picture while looking for print ideas for my son's western wedding. The revolvers didn't suit the wedding motif but I decided to make a couple of belt buckles. Scrolled the pattern through contrasting wood with a 2/0 blade, then reversed the inserts.

Re: Accidental Craft Project

Fantastic...a wonderful way to create life long memories. I have a few pieces like that created by my children many years ago. A few small projects I trimmed and we hang them on the Christmas tree every year.
Enjoy, they grow up so fast so soon.
