I dont mind the router discussion. I have three different setups (OPR, Speed Increaser, Jointech Router Lift) and need to decide which one to keep. After this discussion,I am actually thinking of selling the shopsmith as a bare-bones setup with a couple floating tables and not much else. This will l...

OK, thanks for all the good info. I spent a bunch of time looking at the pictures from Ed, and am amazed by all his work. I need to take some time and set up each router config and use each a bit. I went ahead and took some pics of some items and since there seem to be a few Jointech owners here, I ...

From the responses, I am seeing two is probably the best bet, but I really dont have the space for two. My thoughts are to take one as a complete 510 and sell it and keep the Jointech stuff and the 520 tables and such and just experiment with both setups. I used my 510 all summer to re-do our baseme...

New SS Decisions. 520 Pro-Fence or Jointech
I acquired a 510 setup from a local guy who wanted to clean his garage for the winter. Got a great deal on it but I already have a 510 and no real need for it so the plan was to keep some of the parts for myself and sell off the rest. When I got all the stuff home, it turns out this was originally a...

Well, I am getting the 1958 for sure. Picking it up next weekend. Also seriously considering buying the 1980 as well. The 1980 has a bunch of extras with it and I can use some of the extra parts. If the only difference is the drive system and motor, I may just restore the 58 and keep it. Assuming th...

Update.....So while talking to a co-worker about this, he said his father-in-law has one and also wants to sell it. We called him and he has a 1980 he will sell for the lot of tools plus $150 in cash. He will also throw in a Craftsman bandsaw. Now I am conflicted on which may be the better option. I...

OK, from the consensus its a buy. He said everything is complete and working and comes with 4-5 boxes of extra equipment. Only thing is he does not have any manuals. Would it be best to buy a set from the factory, or is there a place to download them? Again, thanks for all the replies. I am getting ...
