Years back my neighbor borrowed sears pad sander. was fixing bathroom walls sanding sheetrock and old wallpaper. about a month later he brought it back in a pail all taken apart. not a KRAFT brand but, similar.

have this in my OLD STUFF AREA..

MEASUREMENTS ARE: 8 inch long, 4 inch wide, 2 inch deep
ends are 3/8 thick, sides are 1/4 thick.

Reible: I used what I had. 3/16 x 1 1/4 flat plate . should be 1 inch wide then it would fit without grinding. 3/16 thick would still be my choice. anything thinner would be able to be bent up or cut with a shears. kids and relatives are sometimes quite innovative.. :D :D :D :D :D :eek: :eek: :eek:

prototype lock

made a plate to lock switch and maybe more important the speed control dial.

like it says prototype the hole for the switch is not perfect but, the padlock still stops the switch....

more pictures. behind 500 is air compressor, jointer, flex dust tube, and vise on a board that I clamp to bench when needed. behind belt sander the big lathe tool. behind dust collector more clamps. behind 510 sawhorses 2 sets, clamps, and roller stands. stuff in cabinets behind the 510. love those ...

my shop is 12x20feet.. shopsmith is a perfect fit for me woodworking is a hobby.. you must have it organized well. keep it clean and picked up. mine my needs a little cleaning now as have been doing a couple of projects. I have a 500 , 510, belt sander, jointer mounted on a shelf behind 500 , scroll...

more ideas. built this from a plan in wood magazine.
top is 33 1/2 long by 21 1/2 wide.. could be bigger but,
shop is only 12x20 feet. will attach pictures. storage, storage
never have enough.
