congrats, looks to be one of the later units. has a better table raising whatchamacallit [actual name is on tip of my tounge, but can't remember] ssug has a list of markVII changes tthru the 4-5 years in production. keep it cleaned and lubed and it will last. btw the vacuum is over rated. very noisy...

I beleive that it a 21/32 -11tpi r.h. if you are referring to a mark VII. don't know about the mark 7. Or rather it fits my sawsmith arbor [rh] if anybody knows where to find a left hand nut, i would really appreciate that knowledge. now i need to clean up 5 inches of snow. it NEVER snows in wesrern...

I may look at a mark vii for $125 tomorrow. Not being real familiar with this machine. What is the best way to see if the speed cam is melted? Mark Use it. or take the cover plate off the back side and shine a lite inside. if it looks ok, it probably is. if it is hard to change speeds, the sheaves ...

I suppose the plastic was used for economic reasons. Anyone know what kind of plastic it is? Are they really melting, or is the plastic breaking down with age (heat?) and crumbling. The mark VII is as much a real shopsmith as the 10 er, brownie, goldie, and anniversity models. It was built by magna, which owned shopsmith at the time. mark VII cam
I ordered the mark VII info package from shopsmith, which had a drawing with all measurements for the machining of the cam. It was 10$ well spent for parts list etc.

Hi all, I have an old Mark VII and the cam follower bearing disintegrated today.
