'New' 510 purchase
Be aware - you now have purchased a Barbie Doll for guys <G>. It will continue to 'ask' for accessories and other toys (which, in actuality, is a good thing). Enjoy many years of fun ahead of you. I inherited a 510 from my father 10 years ago, and it continues grow. Words of wisdom - be careful. My ...

Level app
Was this after the IOS 7 update? My compass app doesn't do anything (other than tell direction) if I swipe right, left, up or down. Bob Well not exactly a Wixey, but just as good. When I touch the compass app on my cell and swipe from right to left - up comes a clinometer able to indicate tilts in 1...

Thanks for the idea
IIWM, I would search out a new handy place.:D For years I used a speaker magnet on the belt cover. That might work. For now I drilled a hole in home-made shelf for it. I did see one YouTube video regarding the double-tilt, and there would not be a place for the hex handle when the right side is rai...

Thanks
I am still new at this so don't do things like running the BS with a saw blade attached. Guess I am retired so not in that much of a hurry. Anyway, it is just prudent to check things closely, and I agree some Locktite on the hub setscrews- not the arbor setscrews - would help.

SPT hubs loosening
I have had my PP jheadstock since 10/22/10 and recently I noticed that it seemed to be making more noise (rattling) than before. The noise seemed to be coming from low in the headstock so I suspected something near the motor. I did have some rattling noises when I first got the PP and those were tr...

Along the same line....
Recently I added the double-tilt option, but ShopSmith didn't include the two holes (handy for holding the hex key) in the upgrade on the left end. It appears to be a cast part so wonder if it is safe to drill a hole in it without cracking it. Any thoughts? Thanks - great forum. Bob 1985 Mark V upgr...
