The $100 speed changer
I know that i need to get the lathe speeds lower so i can turn bigger things. The problem is that i don't see myself forking down $100 (about the same cost of my shopsmith!:( ) for a speed reducer for my shopsmith 10E. Isn't there something that I can build for less?

Hi I just got a shopsmith 10er too. I found the manual was very usefull and had a list of all the things that came with the shopsmith in the box as well as some attachments. Here is a link to it : http://www.songofthegreatlakes.com/ss10ermanual.htm

Hi I just got a shopsmith and I am restoring it, I have taken it apart and cleaned all of all the gunk and rust off. I am just wondering what lubricant I should use before I assenble it again. shopsmith 10ER/10E, what is the difference?
Hi I an new to posting and would like to know if i bought a shopsmith 10er or a 10e. The machines look the same so i wonder if there is something the 10er has that the 10e dosn't?
