If you remove the articulating arm it becomes like most every other banjo/tool rest on the market so no problem there. My regular tool rest articulating arm cracked and a friend sold me his UTR since he had switch...

Dust Collection holders
Started on a dust hose holder years ago, but just reached that "do it now" moment recently and finished the holders. One mounts in the back hole of the carriage so hose is directly behind whatever you turn. The second one mounts in the miter slot. I needed dust collection for a power carvi...

SS drill mode
Got ready to drill a hole in a table leg in horizontal mode which was going to be so easy on my SS. Oops the table won't go down far enough! Switched to vertical position and had a perfectly centered hole in no time. Metal base in which I had previously drilled the table leg hole, plus top and base ...

If tang is round just drill a hole and epoxy in. Another option is to split a dowel in half and shape a cavity for the tang...

Just checked out the flute set up and do not need to offset the leg. The taper is 3/32nd less at the small end compared to the larger end and should work perfectly off of the tool rest support arm. I'll have vertical and horizontal adjustment and only need to come up with a flat plate to anchor the ...
