Re: Maintenance under severe use
Don't have any oiling ports on my motor. It is a 1-1/8 hp, I believe about 1983 or '86. The "pop the motor cord plug and apply oil" is actually on the SS oil maintenance instruction page. I didn't make it to the shop yesterday before I had to go to work at Woodcraft so haven't checked. Pro...

Maintenance under severe use
I am pretty good at keeping my Mark V oiled, waxed and blown out. I am just about finished with a project that required turning 57 replacement balusters. I have put a minimum of 38-45 hours on it over the past week and still have (2) more balusters and (87) 6" riser blocks that require a chamfe...

Re: Tailstock extension
Finally figured out a working lathe extension. I fitted a 6x6 post into the 20" way extension on my Nichols ~1200 lb. lathe anchoring it to a cross bar in the way using a lag bolt and big washer. I cut two pieces of angle iron and attached them to the other end and fitted the 6x6 to the tail st...

Re: Drive hub for Speed Reducer
Thanks for figuring out the part # for me. Once I figured out the lathe extension set up, I found that I could turn the item at the 750 rpm setting. Still need to have the part on hand and I haven't gotten a response from SS yet.

Re: Drive hub for Speed Reducer
Thanks, but can't tell if that is the right part. The drive hub that goes in the SR coupler is a midge smaller and the notches are spaced differently.

Drive hub for Speed Reducer
Apparently, I have lost the drive hub for my Speed Reducer. Does anyone have a part number for it? It needs to fit the 5/8" shaft on the quill. I have several drive hubs for this shaft, but the notches do not line up with the coupler in the reducer. The drive hub for the jointer has the correct...

Re: dust collection attachments
Jsburger suggested Woodcraft fittings for the 2-1/2" port. I work for Woodcraft. A 2-1/4" to 4" fitting will fit inside a 2-1/2" port. There is not a friction fitting to go over. There is a friction fit coupler to go over the 2-1/2" port and over the 2-1/2" coupler.
