Re: Twin Potty Chairs with a Story

This story starts about 30 years ago when my wife was potty training our son. She had a potty chair with a tray so that when she sat him down, he couldn't get up until he finished his business and she let him up. She was old school and started this process when he was under a year old. By the time ...

Re: Android Tablet Problem

Most tablets have an option to restore the device to factory settings. This should wipe out anything you installed and give you a chance to start over.

Are you gluing up the blanks from construction lumber?

Yes. HD 2x6 studs. These legs are meant for farmhouse tables and are usually painted and distressed.

Re: Looking for milling services

I have a Grizzly 8" spiral head jointer. Got it on Craigs List for $900 and then sold a Delta thickness sander for $550 so my net out of pocket was $350 for the jointer. I still use my Shopsmith Pro Planer for planning as it is hard to beat. I've never used a spiral-head jointer, but I hear th...

Re: Looking for milling services

I would consider posting an ad on Craigslist for the milling. You might find someone with capability in a home workshop near you. I know I could do it in my shop with no problem. I wish you lived nearby! Just out of curiosity, what kind of equipment do you have? A CL ad is a good idea. I've never p...

Re: ss planer issue

One thing I would do is to wax the table really well. I have had occasion where the wood would kind of stop and stutter if the table is not really slick. I also agree with the other suggestions to sharpen the planer blades and to increase the feed rate.

Re: Holey, holey, holey, or Spreadsheet Meets Shopsmith

Ingenious! Mike Ingenious is an understated to say the least. I just have to ponder this to see how many other ways there might be to approach this sort task. Now then - getting something printed that matches a specific spacing pattern might be a computer/printer chore. I have not had good luck get...

Re: Fell off my Pro Planer - Where does it go?

The mystery is now solved. I recently noticed that my planer was no longer feeding straight and that the boards would twist and go through at an angle. I figured it was time to do some maintenance and clean off the feed roller and sharpen blades. When I took the cover off so I could clean the infeed...
