Did you mistype "chuck" as "check" in your initial post??? If so, make sure the adjustable (shiney silver part with red (maybe black) lettering on it for "tapered turning" is tight! If it is loose or miscentered, the tailstock adapter/chuck/bit will NOT be aligned with ...

For future reference, DO ALL UNITS MANUFACTURED BY "SHOPSMITH, INC." HAVE 'SS' PRECEDING THE SN / DATE CODE??????

Don't over look the fact that they(SS) not only do NOT charge your credit card until item is shipped, but, they also do NOT charge for shipping on back ordered item(s) if part of the initial order WAS previously shipped. You only pay shipping on the original NON back ordered items. Who else does it ...

I do NOT think we have to worry about Pinkie being afraid to speak his mind!!
