Thanks Bill and Ed. That's the kind of info I knew I could find here! Bill, if I understand correctly, the quill housing has to be machined out to accept the OD of the same bearing used on the front. The ID of that bearing will press on the quill shaft same as the front?

Mark V quill
I have a early 80's mod 500 that needs quill bearings. I thought I had a two bearing quill but when I disassembled it I only found a hat shaped washer on the splined end. There are no remnants of a bearing in the motor pan. Does anybody know what aftermarket bearings are available? Any help would be ...
