Glad to see you all!
I did not buy the one for segmented use at this time either. Just the 'standard' one. Is the miter slot in this thing a T track? Mike With the washer at the very end of the miter gauge bar, it works just fine in either MiterSet. Also the Detent bar is only used with the Standard MiterSet. MiterSet ...

Hi, The problem comes with the way these things work. With a wixey inclinometer or my preferred beall tilt box it has to stand to work. Picture tipping it over on its back and then trying to use it to determine angles. It just doesn't work that way. I have to measure in that horizontal plane, so I ...

Thank You for the view 'from the far side'. I do not think 10% will happen. Unless they are also on this forum or other relevant ones they are not aware of its existence let alone its virtues. Thanks for YOUR attention! :D I offered SS a dealership for MiterSet for ShopSmith. They evidently don't u...

Interesting thread. I don't have a clue how many SS are in use today, but it seems to me that I read somewhere on the SS web site that they have 2.5 million customers. If I could make a tenth of them happy with MiterSet I couldn't keep up with my present operation. some major changes would have to b...

Use a fence
Guys, I just needed time to think here. I already had everything I needed. So tonight I will cut an 8 sided ring and attach a picture. Can't wait but wife needs me to finish up my daughters bookshelf before I can play. How many of you out there have the 555429 24" miter extension? I'm thinking...

MiterSet for Segments
To all: Here I am with egg on my face. kd6vpe certainly has a correct miter gauge so when I decided to make the MiterSet Segment model for ShopSmith I made a slight error. I don't see an immediate fix to the setting fixture as the holes would probably be too close together if I tried to make it smal...

A Big Thank You!
I thank all of the members that participated in this thread. You just about ran me out of stock on MiterSets for Segments. I hope that the weather has given you all an opportunity to give them a good try. I have been busy rebuilding my inventory and now have a good stock for both ShopSmith and other...

In one of the posts it was mentioned that this idea was birthed by need to set a RAS at 45 degrees. Do you sell a RAS tool? What I first developed was a modified radial arm saw with a rotating table, nearly 30 years ago. To explain, it actually rotated with the use of a 90degree gear reduction box ...

Glad to hear you recieved your MiterSet in good shape. We changed over to tapered pins shortly after we started production. It was a pain to get a no-wobble fit with straight pins. The trouble shooting section of my brain found the solution sometime during the night, and we immediately switched to a...

rieble, we'd be happy to have your critique when the time comes! We chose to make a ShopSmith version of both MiterSet and MiterSet for Segments because we knew there were many ShopSmith owners out there, and it's frustrating to search for woodworking aids, only to find they don't make them to fit y...
