How about we have some fun with this, by way of a bragging rights pool. We do this by taking a guess at what shopsmith is going to price the new tool at. Of couse members of shopsmith are not allowed to play. And as a second part what would be the price point that would get you to buy it in say 6 mo...

Hi, I guess I missed the bit about it becoming a shopsmith "tool". I've seen a LOT of posts at other sites about this but so far you have posted the only one here. I liked the idea and loved the demo video I saw but when the subject got to price......... ahhhhh I think it was like $700. Th...

Hi Ed, I just finished looking at your situation. I see no reason why you couldn't drill and maybe even tap a single hole in the fence, near the middle of the plastic piece could be safer. Since you are talking far down inside I peaked in with my flashlight on the open end and see nothing in the mid...

Hi, When you say it will not cut what does happen where the bit/wood meet? I'm sure this is not the case for you but I once had a friend trying to drill some oak and the bit would go only so far. When I went to look at it he was a bit embarrassed... he had found that the depth stop was set right to ...

Dusty, I think it is safe to say that a hand held router with the right jig or a table mounted router with the right jig can do all that a OPR can do. It is just a matter of how much thinking and effort you want to put into making or buying jigs. Shapers are much like router in a tables. Most shaper...

Hi Charles, With me woodworking is always a lot of options. When I do this project I might do it this way and another project I might use a whole different approach and different tools. Certainly some projects lend themselves to one way or another. Since I have had and used this extension before wit...

Hello again, When I went adapting Nicks design by using the old 510 fence it was still missing the scales... well no more. I'm not going to cover the process or post any pictures as I think if you look at the other post I did on the 20" Aluminum Miter Gauge Extension at: http://www.shopsmith.ne...
