Part 2 Setting up to use the scales is not really to hard to do and you may already know how to do this so if you do then go on and read something else of more interest. It is the same basic process I use for the scales on the Shopsmith 520 rip fence (on the extension it is stops rather then the fen...

Scales Upgrade for the 20” Aluminum Miter Gauge Extension

Hi, I just finished prototyping a pair of projects. Part of my Friday's plan was to check out a couple of ideas I've had about adding scales to some of my Shopsmith attachments. I'm happy to say the projects went well. I'll just cover the first one tonight and yes more pictures. A short while back I...

Sawmill Creek either doesn't like me - maybe I'm too old for them - or they are slow accepting my application to be enrolled. I'm happy to read other's posts supporting Shopsmith and want to add my $.02. Am waiting for Sawmills E-mail. Tried to re-register and they said there was someone else with ...

Hey Dusty I like it! Can't beat the price either. Now we have to find something to use the 510 tubes for (6 sort ones and 2 long ones). Oh yea and those 500 sanding hubs that are still sitting in the box along with some other 500 saw hubs. And of course all the parts left over from harvesting the fe...

Great pictures, Ed! I always think projects are much easier to do if you have pix of all of the intermediate stages as well as the schematics, cut lists, etc. Having limited experience with routers, I'm always amazed at seeing what they can do. And anything that reduces sanding time is a great thin...

We were once doing a video production and a lot of the people involved did not what to appear in the video. So many that we were about to drop the idea and then while brain storming we came up with the idea of using flat face mask. We got a picture of our department head, made a face sized view, ful...

Weekly "bog"

I really don't want to bog you down but some of you might be interested in one of my on going projects. This project is called "CLIMBING BEAR 2.0". Just a short history and then you can go look at the pictures. For me this all started in May of 1979. The issue of Popular Mechanics had a gr...

Your photo series tells it all. Very little, if any, can be added. But I do have a question or three. It looks as though you attached a t-track on top of the fence even though the top of the fence is a t-track. Is that correct? Was this done simply so that the flip stop would fit (was not too long)...
