Found the problem
I've found the answer to the knocking noise. Upon disassembly I found that the driven pulley had migrated inboard and was rubbing against the pulley housing. I didn't have to totally disassemble the machin...I found out after the fact...If you look under the table you will find a access hole in the ...

Thanks for the advice.
Took the tilt head off the table (an ugly job) and found the hidden set screw for the driven pulley which felt a bit loose. Since I was so close I decided to remove the bearings ( The shaft and bearings and the bearings and housing are a press fit. Without a press ...

Craftsman bandsaw makes knocking noise
My 113.248320 Craftsman 12" bandsaw makes a knocking noise. It is comming from the lower wheel drive. I've replaced and tightened the motor mounting bolts and the pulling housing. The belt tension is correct. The motor freewheels very smoothly. I think it might be one of the bearings on the drive ...
