Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

Well disappointing news for me. Fired up my Upgraded DC-6000 for a small task to find it discharging a fair amount of dust out the back of the motor housing. Let it run few minutes and constantly emitting interior dust to outside. The darn thing was working great from July until now. Can’t tear into...

Re: Well I did it!!! I obligated...

I think you’re really going to like it. I upgrade 8 or so years back and have not regretted doing the upgrade. I attended a Doug Reid online seminar on the PowerPro upgrade and received the double-tilt upgrade as part of the combined upgrade purchase. Congrats and enjoy. Now’s the time to plan new w...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

My DC 6000 upgrade looks very much like your pictures on the inside. I used the foam tape ShopSmith supplied. One thing I think ShopSmith missed the mark on this upgrade kit is the way they fabricated the black adapter, which is cut it straight (square) end that is going through the outer barrel of ...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

Thought I would share how I adapted my DC6000 upgrade to a 4” hose hookup as close to Shopsmith’s 2-1/2” tool side dust collection pickup point. I only pursued this because I have both a DC3300 and a DC6000. My goal for the DC6000 was to get as much air movement as close to the tool side as I could ...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

I have completed my DC3300 to DC6000 upgrade. My original DC3300 was purchased new in1996 and still had the original motor and blower. I did add a mid size hood to my original DC3300 about 15 years ago. It took longer to do the deep clean on the remaining DC3300 parts than it did taking the old moto...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

Yes blower impeller is housed in metal and a metal inlet screwed onto metal. All the parts that came in the box are in the one picture where laid out on the work bench. The motor is housed in a thick plastic similar to my original (I updated my original posted description after a closer look.)

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

Ok I got my upgrade. I am trying to attach 6 pics. It came with an 8-9 pages upgrade instructions that is illustrated too. I will not be able to start the upgrade process until next week... my grandkids just arrived and shop is an early morning playground for the next week. So I will not be able to ...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

Before I ordered my DC3300 upgrade I search for more info on the upgrade on the ShopSmith website and did find much just what was contained within the email link. Also some replied on this thread that the $279.99 sale price wasn’t a real sale price. Today I found this on the website . It contains th...

Re: New Shopsmith DC-6000 Dust Collector

David, My DC3300 upgrade is scheduled to arrive mid to late this week according to tracking info. I am a novice using this forum. I used to be on Facebook more but I moved off that platform and trying to use this one more. Not too sure how to upload pics but I’ll try to figure it out when it arrives...
