I purchased both a 3/4" and 1" 10-32 screw. The new one went in much better than the old one or the metric screw. :o

I think the screw length must be an issue of vintage. The casting of my jointer has a date of 1-24-80 and has the old style guard. Mine takes 3/4" screws.

Thank you, Dusty. I appreciate you taking the time to check it out. I will go back and get a 10-32 screw to try, and if that doesn't work, I will try cleaning it out with a tap. I will post back when I have it figured out.

Does anyone know the size of the screws that hold the wedges in the jointer cutterhead? I replaced the bearings and blades recently, and there is one screw that does not want to go in. Thanks for the responses on the mystery parts. I found that the manual that came with this Mark V does have a 510 section that goes through everything I should need for alignment. Hopefully I will get some shop time this weekend to work on that.
