As I understand it, be careful which sawdust you save. I have heard that Walnut sawdust will harm plants.

Interesting thread! I also disagree with Derek. If they take the rest of the US, they have to take Kansas too! No sense in leaving us out! I have heard for years that Social Security could be funded if they remove the earnings cap for it like is done with Medicare. I think that the current limit of ...

I love those powdered sugar donuts, but my favorite was always the Hostess Cupcakes! I saw them advertised on the Howdy Doody show and I had been eating them ever since. They were 10¢ back them and I remember getting mad when they went up to 12¢!

I have had oil filters like that! I fought one for 3 days that had a filter in a tight spot. A co-worker of mine had a problem with his oil drain plug. It was leaking after an oil change and when he tried to tighten it, it was stripped. We worked in a TG&Y store with an auto service center. He w...

Joe, Point those fans to the Southeast corner. We could use a little relief down here too. I know it gets hot there too as I lived there for about 4 years. I enjoy seeing those wind farms. The company I work for makes the power centers and control centers for those. I don't know if we did that group...

If you cannot find the beadlock, I have used a heavy grease. The rim has to be clean as possible. Grease is not as good as the beadlock, but I have had success with it in the past.

When my grampa was in his 80's he used to say he gets stronger every day. He used to be able to spend $20 at the grocery store and it took 5 guys to carry it out. Then he got to where he could lift $20 worth of groceries with one hand.

My oldest grandson graduates Monday from Joplin High School. If you remember almost a year ago the high school and at least one elementary school were destroyed by an F-5 tornado. The high school is now in a Mall. The guest speakers for Monday night are Governor Nixon and President Obama. It might b...

Farmer, I don't think they understand! This is a woodworking forum. We build things, then we try to think up uses for them. Besides, I am sure that you have pulled so many trailers, equipment etc, that it is second nature to you. Enjoy your trip! One thing I can't understand though is once you have ...

Topic: Old barns?

I am glad I am not the only one who loves old barns. Our old barn collapsed in the mid 60's from a very bad windstorm. It was in poor shape. We were about to shore it up, but never got the chance. I was farm raised. On my dad's side we were farmers all the way back into the old country which for us ...
