Power Pro Headstock

Anyone upgrade to the new Power Pro headstock? It looks killer, but I don't know whether to save my $$ for this or for one of the bazillion other tools I'm interested in.

The jist is this. It's a 'treasure' hunting game. You get a handheld gps unit and people hide caches (normally a tuper-ware container or an old ammo box) and put up the GPS coordinates to this site. You type in the zip code you want to locate caches in and it'll give ...

Anyone into GEO Caching?

I haven't done it in the past year, but it's a blast. And it's a very family-friendly hobby to get into.

I'll give it a go. So do I need to clean the disk every time I swap paper?

Sticky sanding disk

So I peel off the stick-on disc wheel paper and slap it on the metal plate. But now I have this sticky gunky mess on the metal plate. Is this how everyone does it? What can I use to clean off this plate? I actually want to re-align my system and I don't want to do it with sandpaper on the plate.

Good casters on the cheap

I'm trying to build some shop storage and I need to put everything on sturdy casters, but the casters at the local hardware store seem pretty expensive. I can buy armloads of 2x4 for a few bucks, but I can't put it on a caster for under $15 per wheel?

Anyone have a good source? I would greatly ...

I found it. November 12 2007. Making wooden trivets.
Oh yes. I saw that episode and that's kind of what got me started.

Thanks.

I'm actually making some holiday trivets. So lots of repeatable dados.

I'm actually making it 3/8" wide by around 3/8" deep, so it sounds like I shouldn't have an issue.

Thanks for the information.

Beginner Dado Question

I've got a 510 and just started to make some Dado cuts. This may be a silly question, but does anyone see an issue with making a 3/4" dado 3/8" deep in one pass? Should I do this in multiple passes?

Well, this is easy for me as well. I got my 510 this year, which is my first foray in ShopSmith land. I'm still learning the capabilities, but so far I'm loving it.

I also got a pocket hole jig this year and I love that too.
