Re: New Kreg adaptive cutting system

I tend to cut on a sheet of foam on the ground outside, so I rarely bother hooking up a vacuum. One thing I like about my Festool is that I have a dust collection bag that was designed to fit it's cordless version, but also works with the corded one. The bag keeps the dust from spreading out all ove...

Re: A Facebook Response from Shopsmith

Doesn't surprise me. I just ordered a set of the jointer knives that they put on special, and 12 days later I got an email saying that they are on back order for over 3 months. Also, if I want any of the other items I ordered to ship before the backordered item comes in, I have to call them and let ...

Re: New Kreg adaptive cutting system

When it comes to track saws, I honestly don't think you can beat this Makita deal: https://www.toolnut.com/power-tools/cordless-tools/cordless-saws/makita-xps01ptj-cordless-brushless-36v-lxt-6-1-2-track-saw-kit.html I have this system, as well as the corded Festool TS55, and although I love both of ...

Re: Problems getting my order

I ordered the Kreg Bandsaw Fence about two years ago. It stayed on back order for over a year, then I was told they no longer carried that item. I paid with a Visa gift card, so I was charged at the time of order. A few months later, someone from Shopsmith called and said I had a credit due to the c...

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'

https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/tls/6630376765.html 520 with PP headstock. Includes jointer and maybe a bandsaw. Asking $2k, but says he's willing to take an offer. From the ad: "Selling my trusty ShopSmith! I am "thinning out" this year. If you do not know much about a ShopSmith, ...

Re: New Wheels for Power Stands or Pro Planer

Dusty, This may not be of much help, and it may be too late anyway, but before Bill Mayo passed away, he used to sell a castor upgrade for the Pro Planer. I purchased and installed one on my Pro Planer and it works perfectly. I am attaching the instructions provided by Bill so that you can see if it...

Re: Anyone tried Alexa in the shop?

Ed, I've got a couple of Amazon Dots at home, which I like, and I have also thought about using them in the shop for the same purposes you have proposed. I think for turning on lights and equipment it would work well. I'm concerned about turning off equipment, as I wonder if the noise of the tool an...

Re: YouTube Videos featuring Shopsmiths

Great video to demonstrate that beautiful, high end furniture can be created with nothing but the Shopsmith system and a few hand tools. Shopsmith should license this video and use it to market the system.
