Love your post Mrblanche. A couple of more questions...What type of glue did you use? How did you finish the profile of the body....Sander?...What luthier tools don't you have that you would buy if you were going to make a lot of guitars. Guitar is cool by the way. I used Tite-Bond wood glue, which...

If you ask a musician, you'll get all kinds of gobbledy-gook about tone woods, glue types, fret types, pickup resistance, bone nuts, stainless steel frets, etc. Some of the wisest guita...

If you believe the numbers about the BP well that blew out, you would have to believe it was the most productive well ever drilled. The average well in the U.S. produces about 10 barrels per day (remember, that includes a lot of small wells). The average Saudi or Kuwaiti well produces about 10,000 b...

The second coat won't hurt anything, and it should make your paint job more durable. Don't sand the first coat. Read the label; most of those paints say to coat within 2 hours or after 24 hours. Anything in between may cause a chemical reaction that ruins both coats.

I have a friend who taught body shop in high school for many years. He keeps an eye out for a sale at Harbor Freight on air-powered right-angle die grinders and air-operated RO hand sanders. He said the best are not that much better than the cheapest ones, the kids could break anything, and everythi...

You know you're a woodworker when you stop past garage sales, and the only two things you're interested in are tools and old furniture that might have good enough wood to build something else.

You might be surprised how durable the Rustoleum hammered paints are, once they are fully cured.
