thanks for the good information I took my spring apart and surprise of all surprises there was no spacer #124 between the fan sheave and the motor casing. Also the "set Screw" was missing. The fan sheave has gouged into the motor casing at the hub and the tip regions. I am preparing ...

I oil it with sewing machine oil every few months before I use it. Now that I have seen Rick's Sawdust Sessions it is getting easier. Oiling may not be a problem - I used it at slow speeds during some large diameter bowl lathe work. The slow speed may be the problem. I still don't understand ...
