Re: What have you purchased from Shopsmith recently?

I ordered some drum sander sleeves that were on sale recently during their Black Friday sale along with a shaper insert for my table. Both were sent to an address I used about 10 years ago when I was still in the military...Apparently a glitch in their new system. Customer service eventually sent ou...

SawSmith blade

I recently ordered and received the 8 inch Woodworker I (Mr Sawdust TCG) blade for my SawSmith radial arm saw from Slivers Mill. It’s on sale now too. It is a great blade. No tear out and cuts were smooth and you need minimal sanding.

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

Was wondering if anyone had any other spare parts for the SawSmith RAS? I have the opportunity to get another saw for restoration but it is missing the plastic cover assemblies that are on either side of the unit. There is a left and right cover.

Re: Sawsmith RAS speed control question

Have you looked at The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread ? You can download a manual and exploded parts document for your model and there is a boatload of info about the machine scattered through the thread. Maybe a good idea to post your question in that thread. There is a spring putting pre...

Re: Sawsmith RAS speed control question

I am not familiar with the RAS, but with a reeves drive some means must be provided to either detent or clamp the control 'knob'. The belt tension will cause the speed shift. FWIW the power station drifts to slow. Perhaps due to different tension in/out? Thanks. I will tinker with it with some more...

Re: Sawsmith RAS speed control question

I know this is an old thread, but what would cause the speed control to not stay in position at the lowest speed? I am still in the process of cleaning and restoring my SawSmith RAS and it started to do this. Basically, it jumps up a speed on its own after placed in lowest speed setting.
Thanks.

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

Was wondering if anyone had the dimensions or would be able to trace and copy the outline of the SawSmith floating saw guards to post here? I am still working to restore my Yuba model. The instructions and a photo of what the guards look like are below. Thank you.

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

In the recent special they have the SawSmith RAS Clamping Hub for sale (Part 516461).

I tried to look up the part using the parts reference at the beginning of this thread. Anyone know what it is?

Re: The Ultimate Sawsmith Radial Arm Saw Thread

Got my SawSmith cleaned up and running. Late in posting a pic. Had to replace the capacitor, repainted the stand, replaced hardware for the stand, put down a new temporary MDF table on top of the original table. Lubricated the sheave and cleaned up the rails. Before and after pics attached. Thanks t...
