Looking at my Shopsmith jigsaw manual (copyright 1982), has same part number and has ref no 68, described as "oil seal".

Probably refers to similar page in the Magna jigsaw manual. #74 is listed as Magna part 502264.

Hi Chris, thanks for commenting........ I am usually running at the slowest speed on the dial, also to avoid overheating.

Some of you might recall the home made "nifty belt grinder" that was in Machinist Workshop magazine. I use it daily! Here it is with the work table attached.

Yes, still using it but have moved it to a shortie that has my "nifty belt grinder" on it, and it works fine. The dedicated drill press got the unmolested SS headstock off the shortie and other required pieces and was sold as a Mark V for $600. I have a mill drill and a bench top drill pre...
