I'd be more inclined to look for a deal on a newer machine, as anything from SS is very costly. However, if it is what you want, then that's what you get. I bought a new Harley a few years back, and I didn't quibble about it.

Looks pretty handy. Lot of storage space in those drawers, must be nice. I think a gray paint job on the wood and metal would really finish it off.
Is the bandsaw secured well on top of that? Wouldn't want it to tip over and fall off.

Has anyone replaced the four steel tubes with longer ones to increase the length of stock one can turn on the SS lathe? I know they would have to be machined stock rather than pipes, but it seems it would be one heck of an upgrade. Any thoughts?

Well, Nancy's friend picked up the bench, and she was very happy with it. Turns out it is about 60 years old, so it is a real piece of furniture. I told her to make sure nobody stands on it, and that I could fix it again if need be. I would not let her pay me.

Looks like an SS with a different nameplate. So much for respecting patents. I suppose patents do expire, but the quality of this is not likely nearly as good as an old SS. Has anyone seen these before?
