All the SPTs in place

Here is a pic of the top holding all the SPTs. There is also space for the tool tray that has the chuck, allen wrenches, and such. I plan to wrap the whole top edge in 1x3, then reinforce the metal sides to transfer load to the bottom through the wood. The wheels failed so quickly I figure the SPTs ...

Howdy, Yesterday I went to the shop and discovered the DC3300 threw the breaker when I turned it on. Sadly, it was hooked to the Shopsmith remote control and a thunderstorm turned it on. It ran non-stop for several weeks. Normally, I am in the shop and would have caught it (it does the thunderstorm...

I'd be more inclined to look for a deal on a newer machine, as anything from SS is very costly. However, if it is what you want, then that's what you get. I bought a new Harley a few years back, and I didn't quibble about it. I'm just happy to have found my greenie, and then a bandsaw attachment. It...

Looks pretty handy. Lot of storage space in those drawers, must be nice. I think a gray paint job on the wood and metal would really finish it off. Is the bandsaw secured well on top of that? Wouldn't want it to tip over and fall off. Tim. The red tray obscures the 32" 2x4 that is glued and sc...

Accessory/SPT Cart

Howdy folks, Been awhile. Busier on summer break than during the year, it seems. So, I was helping a friend move, and she was downsizing, so she gave me a metal drawer cabinet. Here is what I did with it. Needs sturdier wheels, HF is still junk. There is room to put the tail stock and the saw table ...

JPG, I think the first thing I want to make is a movable cart that will hold all the accessory that is not being used and do you know if anyone has ever made a electric guitar with a shopsmith? I am in the process of designing a tall rolling cabinet to hold all the SPTs and accessories for my 1956 ...

Long way tubes

Has anyone replaced the four steel tubes with longer ones to increase the length of stock one can turn on the SS lathe? I know they would have to be machined stock rather than pipes, but it seems it would be one heck of an upgrade. Any thoughts?

Well, Nancy's friend picked up the bench, and she was very happy with it. Turns out it is about 60 years old, so it is a real piece of furniture. I told her to make sure nobody stands on it, and that I could fix it again if need be. I would not let her pay me.

Looks like an SS with a different nameplate. So much for respecting patents. I suppose patents do expire, but the quality of this is not likely nearly as good as an old SS. Has anyone seen these before?

Now that others have asked the questions about the baby and the bike, tell us about cutting the cake with a chainsaw. Well, I wanted to do something a little unique, and I have this large saw, so I filled the oil reservoir with canola oil, cut a bit of wood, drained the oil and refilled it with can...
