i have taken the switch apart inside the switch there are two metal strips i cleaned these up and replaced them witch way do they go back in

i have a problem with the main switch on my mark 5 no response when switched on,cleaned out the switch now it keeps blowing fuses any ideas would a new switch solve the problem
