Re: Grey SS scroll saw stroke/vibration reduction

Are you saying these parts might be interchangeable? I really don't love my old gray saw but this might change my mind if that is the case. Ed, yes, with one minor adjustment. The counterweight bearing shoulder (circled) is a larger diameter on the newer part and did not quite clear the bearing sea...

Re: Scroll Saw Upper Blade Block

In this photo of a Scroll Saw from paulrussell there appears to be some additional mechanism on the upper blade block between the roll pin and part 18. I don't see that anywhere on the diagram, anyone know what it is? I have made multiple modifications to my scroll saw, including deleting the sprin...

Old catalogs? Anywhere?

I was wondering if the old 70s/80s Shopsmith catalogs are online anywhere. I wanted to do a bit of archeology.

Re: Scroll saw: 7/8", 1 3/32" , or 1 3/16" stroke length?

i toyed with buying a cam and shaft from a Teal model just to see how if it would work in my older saw, but it appears the part is significantly different, and the chances that it would balance with the other weights is slim -- and buying both is richer than I'm willing to go. By my measurements and...
