You need to put the edge next to a straight edge, such as a combination square blade. The eyes can sometimes deceive.
By the way you didn't give where you're located.
If you're close to me, I'd sharpen your blades for you.

Verde Green is available from Rustoleum if you are still interested. I asked the gentleman in the paint department at my nearest Ace Hardware if it could be ordered. He said yes but he thought there might be a minimum quantity. Maybe you Verde Green folks need to set up a consortium and stock paint...

I remember that when I was a kid, our neighbor had a "Delta Shop". It was a 8" bench saw, 4" jointer, and a 11" drill press. Here's a picture on one of the tools from the OWWM site. http://www.owwm.com/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=1962 9885[/ATTACH...

Well I completely stripped down and prepped the jointer. I was going to paint it with Rustoleum hammer tone "Verde green". But after a thorough local search, there was none to be found. I just painted it with Rustoleum textured gray. The finish somewhat matches the band saw (sorta). Tomorr...

It's hard to tell, due to the picture quality. Sure looks like a Shopsmith
I suspect someone added a mushroom emergency push button shut off switch.
Maybe after a "OSHA/safety" inspection??

Jointer refurbish.

I picked up an old "Green Magna jointer" from the bay. I've disassembled, cleaned the head and checked the bearings. I sharpened the blades. cleaned up the table, fence and guard. I picked up a back guard assy from a newer jointer. Had to drill and tap the base, and fence for the two guard...

I may be missing the point here but if I'm not mistaken you could just make the new guide bar from UHMW in the first place... Of course if you have the toys, why not play with 'em? Paul M Wow! I didn't even think of that. I even have some 1/4" thick X about 7/8" wide strips of UHMW ...

Tenon jig modification

Due to space constraints in my shop, I've started using my old shopsmith again. My all time favorite joint is a"'mortise, and tenon". I have a dedicated mortiser. I needed to modify my delta mortise jig to fit the Shop smith. Of course the guide bar is too wide, and thick to fit the miter ...

In my admitted limited use of a fence on my band saw, I can't see paying a large amount of my retirement income for a hi-dollar replacement table and fence. The miter gage with a wood face has worked very well. I guess if you did a lot of re sawing it might be cost effective. But I think most of us ...
