I second the motion of the shopsmith mandrel and mandrel saver from pennstateind.com(PSI). start with lower end kits like funline and slimline. You can even get pre-cut and drilled blanks for those there. I'd use epoxy at first, but you'll need to let it cure longer before turning. A box of 1 inch ...

Thanks for verifying what I thought. As usual, my timing is impeccable. I was off all last week rebuilding my patio roof (SS would have been nice to have for that). Now its snowing and I have to wait until next Monday to go get it. Tom Petty had it right - the waiting is the hardest part.

It was sold. Better luck next time. You guys are good. I downloaded the pics from SS' history page and kept flicking back and forth in the foreground while looking at the CL pic. I thought it was a 510.
