Thanks Ed that is what I needed to know. I have Incra table that i want to mount on pin router stand. I do dovetails and box joints on wide boards so I would definitely have to remove column for my idea to work.

I was given a clone bandsaw and the quality is very poor. That would make me question the quality of joiner. I would also think that it would be very heavy.

I just clean the tires with a toothbrush. I would not treat or lube in anyway. There are lots of sources of blades and you do not have to use shopsmith. Timberwolf are the best in my opinion. I had the same problem and found it was my fence was not aligned with the blade. It was not off by much but it made a big difference.
