Re: Verde Green hammered spray paint

I think the dark green paint supplied by Shopsmith is the color that is a close match to the Rustoleum Verde Green…or maybe the Rustoleum Verde Green is a close match to the Shopsmith dark green??? Like jpg has pointed out and as the Shopsmith picture indicates, it is not hammered. I believe a lot o...

Re: Verde Green hammered spray paint

Well, it might not be “hammered”, but it is: - a close color match to the Verde Green - available (unlike the the Hammered Verde Green) - might work just fine for a smaller project like the Wilton Bench Vice that rbm is trying to restore And finally - really expensive compared to the list price for ...

Re: Verde Green hammered spray paint

Have you considered purchasing a spray can of green paint from Shopsmith?

https://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cat ... ppaint.htm

The cost per can of $17.89 plus shipping is a little hard to swallow but might be your best option.

Re: Mark V Pinion broke...

I don’t know how well superglue holds up with metal long term, but I have seen JB Weld work really well for the type of repair you made. The wealth of information on this forum is amazing. Glad you got things up and working!

Custom Fence for Cast Iron Bandsaw Table

While browsing eBay looking at Shopsmith parts I came across a listing for a custom made bandsaw fence for the older cast iron table. The modified fence was done by seller with the handle “thompsonjoedeals”. The attached photos were included with the listing. It looks like a great use for an old 500...

Re: New member with questions

The only difference is the commemorative badge. From your description it sounds like you may have a problem with the speed controller. Shopsmith Sawdust Sessions: http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/SS_Archives/SS117/SS117_Replacing_Speed_Changer.htm or a review of Jacob Anderson’s Shopsmith videos on y...

Re: Shaft guard

I use the upper shaft guard on my dedicated drill press. In addition to its intended safety feature, it reminds me not to store stuff on top of the headstock. I glued some rare earth magnets where the bolts would go instead of permanently mounting it. I left the hubs on it for the purported heat sin...

Re: Mark V not slowing down past H on speed dial

Here is a video that Jacob Anderson made showing how he sets the speed. Not sure if that is helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWVxeTqUgT8 Here is the method for performing a high speed adjustment with photos and a write up done by Dan at songofthegreatlakes.com http://www.songofthegreatlakes....

Re: Mark VII

I am not very familiar with the Mark VII, but I did see an eBay seller (houseofrust) with a listing for what they were calling a “Shopsmith Mark VII Replacement Rack”. It looks like it is a 3D printed part. As I read the listing they are selling the replacement rack for one side for $40.

Re: Looking for Early Greenie Upper Saw Guard

How long was this style of guard used by Shopsmith. I have one complete upper and one complete lower guard similar to what you have shown except they are gray. Also looks like the dust collection port on the lower is different.
