Ok, the drum moves freely and not clamped down after removing thw screws that held the brackets and the drum in place.Problem encountering now is the whole assembly does not seem to be able to clear the end edges where the once bolted down brackets were when trying to pull it out, even if trying to ...

Thank You, I did not know that.... So needs to be on to adjust the dial so as not to damage the mechanism.

I just found out on this forum the shopsmith I was given is actually a clone of shopsmith. Wow... Well wondering sinch a clone of Shopsmith if the shopsmith jointer repair parts online will work with this. So I can replace with some shopsmith parts to get it running properly. Semper Fi Ted W P.S. Yes turning the dial it starts to get real tight to turn.....

I aquired this ShopSmith from a friend and have no idea what year it is. I started to refurbish it but have no idea what manuals etc I need. Anyone have an idea. Attached is a picture of the plate with number on it, but that number does not show on the shopsmith list.
