Re: Bandsaw drift, is this normal?
@all, thank you for the input. You've helped me to confirm that this is not normal :) I'll check the guide shaft to see if that's the issue. Otherwise, I'll order a new blade. I don't think I've used it much but it could have been "abused" in some other way in my messy shop. I'll post an u...

Bandsaw drift, is this normal?
I'm hoping you can help me understand what I'm doing wrong. I was trying to resaw a log with a 1/2" blade in my bandsaw. I haven't used it in a while so when I saw that the blade was "turning" in the wood, I figured I needed to do some alignment. Basically, as I ran wood along the fen...

510 fence on a 520?
I just purchased a 520 from a widow. It was well taken care of and I hope to do the same. I can tell the former owner was a man of precision and care by looking at how well he maintained his machine and how tight his joints were. It included a 510 fence in addition to the 520 fence. When I asked if ...

Re: Useful Woodshop Projects
Lanterns! What a great way to use scrap wood! Thank you for these ideas. Sometimes I sit in my shop trying to think of things to do that aren't overwhelming month-long projects and these are great examples.

Re: Problem with Revised Under-Shopsmith Cabinet
Hi, EYoung! In my humble opinion, you have done nothing wrong, except perhaps fret over measurements. In my simple woodworking mind, measurements have often gotten me into trouble. Don't worry about measurements! Just make it work! Thanks for the encouragement. This is only my second cabinet and I ...

Re: Problem with Revised Under-Shopsmith Cabinet
Are you looking at the drawing for the original? That's included there for reference but the revised measurements are further on in the word doc and mention a 7", 4" and 2 3" drawers.

Re: Problem with Revised Under-Shopsmith Cabinet
I'd be inclined to agree with you but earlier in that same thread there are pictures with 4 drawers!
In addition, in those pictures he didn't seem to have the top as close to the shopsmith as I do in my picture. (My shopsmith 510 lower tube height is the 21 1/2" in my picture)

Problem with Revised Under-Shopsmith Cabinet
I'm hoping you experienced folks can help me. I'm trying to build an under-shopsmith cabinet for my 510 and I'm having an issue I don't understand. I followed seejay's plans here: http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewtopic.php?p=21448#p21448 but things aren't looking right. I'm about to start cutti...
