Re: Why is the Shopsmith Bandsaw so different?

The crash if I can call it a crash actually happened because I damaged my front tire during a ride when I hit a pot hole following a buddy who missed it in front of me. Really hard hit but I didn't lose control then. We stopped and looked for damage but didn't see any. About 15 miles later right in ...

Re: Why is the Shopsmith Bandsaw so different?

Mr. Davis, Thanks for creating this document. I think I finally understand the Shopsmith Bandsaw now. I also grabbed a copy of some other documents while I could. You have been busy. There's a lot of new things since I looked at the Shopsmith site. I am just about to return to active duty following ...

Re: New PTWFE

Interesting discussion. Thanks for confirming the lack of quality in the prints and the fact it is essentially the old book. I would take exception to the perceived dig into Mr. Davis original manual restorations. I believe Mr. Davis stated he restored the original manuals. He did not state he corre...

Re: Making "Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited ... " a "Sticky

BR549, Absolutely! If you follow the thread you will notice JPG's comment in 2015 when the document "Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited" started the the thread. Of the two threads that are Stickey's, JPG's is the most read. At the time and long before all the other content and contributions...

Re: Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited - Illustrations & More

Dusty, I am USAF. We do not disclose our deployments in compliance with orders, and severely consider what we say and don't say on social media. In my grand dads day he would simply say loose lips sink ships. One does not have to wear a uniform to be a patriot though. We have American patriots all o...

Re: Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited - Illustrations & More

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to see your post JPG. You are of course right. He does that for others. I have to put my Shopsmith ambitions on hold for now. My unit is getting deployed and I am leaving my present home away from home. I will pigeon hole some savings and have a better chance...

Re: Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited

Update on 1960’s Mark VII 4th motor style. User n240sxle91 started the following thread which has provided the updated information: https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewtopic.php?p=219255#p219255 titled “Is my Mark VII motor/switch wiring correct?” In it we finally have an example of the Mark VII...

Re: Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited

Thank you JPG. Everett posted a set as well. I cannot believe how much better the restored illustrations Everett did look when compared to originals. I read his Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited which I guess started this thread and learned a bunch about the Mark V and Shopsmith in general. That is ...
