Re: Shopsmith vs Jacobs MC8K26 Chuck
It doesn't seem to me that there is a question. ;) Shopsmith I have one of each which is better? I am selling my extra unit and thought I would give them a chuck. Dusty replied... "It doesn't seem to me that there is a question. Shopsmith" with a wink. Not sure what the wink means. IMO, t...

Re: Shopsmith vs Jacobs MC8K26 Chuck
Well that's not much help. I had been using the SS but I just went through all my extra stuff I got with the various units and found I had a Jacobs also. As far as I can tell both are very similar.thunderbirdbat wrote:When you need to drill something, which one do you reach for first? That is the one to keep.

[quote="skou"]Reminds me of the old joke; What is "worn" under the kilt? Absolutely nothing! Everything under there is in perfect condition! But still, I'm not watching this "guy" climb the ladder. My OWN "stuff" scares me! Now, back to your PG rated Forum. st...

A real "whole nine yards" kilt would be made of a lighter material than a Utilikilt so it might flow.wrmnfzy wrote:It was definitely not a kilt. It was a very flimsy material. Definitely not the construction type kilt I've seen on tv. It flowed as he sashayed.

Re: Machine Height
It is my theory that the twist (if there is any) is because the Base and Headrest were not resting on a flat surface. IMO, the tubes will hardly ever be the cause . It seems to me that you would get twisting on a custom built base and with the SS metal legs. In fact if the base cabinet were built s...

Re: Leg Stands
The video was filmed in 1998, long before the Shop Deputy was released, I think he just removed the legs and bolted the bases to the cabinet. ;) All a Shop Deputy kit is two shortened tubes and some mounting hardware. True, but the Shop Deputy was introduced after the introduction of the Power Pro ...
