Re: SS 500 Router function?

I have found that for the most part the SS is an alright router but it does not have the rpm's that a router has. The router bits that need a higher rpm to cut properly do not work really well. The large router bits that need a slower speed work better. You do need to adjust your feed rate for a goo...

Re: Router table 555413 system

Sawdust sessions have been broken down into individual segment videos posted on the Shopsmith YouTube channel now. You will need to search the videos to find the segments that you want but at least they are all labeled really well.

Re: Cateract Surgery

Glad the surgery went well and everything turned out great. I agree with that the bright headlights can be a problem. Light sensitivity can be a problem for me at times. I use night driver lenses and my husband has a pair of yellow tinted glasses for use at night. They help a lot with cutting down t...

Re: Mystery Attachments …. again!

Looking at all the pieces while thinking about a metal lathe, could it be a home made controllable carriage or a lathe duplicator for a SS? Does the hinged piece fit around a way tube? Re: Baking center

Finally I was able to get back to the baking center. I had to make a birthday present for my daughter and get some other things done around the house. 20240119_082744.jpg I have got one of the doors made and installed. I put a coat of shellac on it but will wait until the weather warms up before put...

Re: Self-study guide as homeschool shop class curriculum?

The self study course does a good job of introducing someone to woodworking and how to set up a SS. I started my kids in the garage when they were a little younger than your 7 year old. I had a hard time finding safety glasses and hearing protection for them due to their size for the power equipment...
