Re: Universal Tool Rest with Saw
If it was just a simple lift off I would , but its two bolts.
Now that you mention the Gurade, I don;t think the quill would work. The gurard would hit the plate.

Universal Tool Rest with Saw
I have a universal tool rest, When I have it bolted on, The headstock will not slide far enough over for the blade to come up from the table. Yes, If I move the quill it would work. Do I have to remove the universal tool rest ever time I want to use the table saw mode? The headstock hits the tool re...

Re: telescoping coupler
It all depends on how you use your SS. Some guys like mentioned above remove tools when they are done. I don't have the space for that so in most cases, I leave on the bandsaw. I don't like using the sanding disc and have the band saw run at same time. With a project I may go back and forth from Ban...

Re: telescoping coupler
The 3d printed parts are likely similar to the plastic used in the SS part. He torque tested them, but yea, likely not a great quality. The wood suppose to be there incase there is an issue so it can break easily. I just wish Shopsmith would release new products more frequently. Even small things li...

I hate having to unlock and slide the headstock to take coupler off.
Kind of things Shopsmith should make.

Re: Shorty tube cutting
I'm not 100% decided on this method, I just haven't really heard explanations why not too. Excepts "things can go wrong" and "its a bad idea". Just because it isn't they way you did it doesn't mean its worse. Reasons not to disassemble, Taking everything apart is a more detailed ...

Re: Shorty tube cutting
I also understand the tubes are different lengths so I need to remove the same amount from each one, Not line it up like the images shows.
