I have a chance to purchase a 510 with upgraded mark 7 (done by company) and a band saw for $1100.00. I believe it is worth it but how can I check out the head and make sure it is operational? I was rebuilt January 2015.

When drilling the tool bit chatters and makes a terrible noise. The speed is ok and the drill is sharp. I also took the time to level the table parallel to twist drill. Any ideas?

I wondered why you did not respond. See your phone is disconnected too. Sorry you had to have surgery but glad you feeling better now. Get better soon and back out in the shop where you want to be.

I have been a shop smith owner for 30 plus years. Wonder if there are any SS owners near Grand Rapids (Kentwood) area? Hope this is a proper platform to ask this question. Would be nice to be involved in a local SS group.
