Hi Guys,
My parts finally arrived and I'm ready to get this puppy up and running. First problem, how do I remove the old spacer. I can't figure out how to get the old one out and I don't see any instructions.

Thanks beeg. I got a complete speed control assembly off of eBay last night, but I will send my broken knob in for an upgraded one. Never hurts to have spares. Thanks for the link!

I would say this speed control handle is shot. There are some teeth on it, but most of them are completely shot. No wonder the speed dial wasn't turning!

Nevermind on part 2. I found some info on the motor sheave, or the fan sheave as it is called. Looks like the only tools I'll need are a spring compression board and the trusty 5/32" allen wrench. I suppose removing the fan sheave and turning on the motor will tell me if it is a bearing that is bad ...

Wow JPG, they weren't kidding. You are the man! It looks like the teeth on the back side of the control knob are in REALLY bad shape. 1 item that I will be replacing.

Yeah, I don't have the tools to pull or press motor bearings. That is gonna suck if that is the problem. It really looks like the sheave is touching something, but I can't tell when it is up to speed.
When the guy dropped it off it didn't make that noise, but it was plugged in to an extension cord ...
