Thanks guys! That makes perfect sense.

I have a 1955 (serial number 301817) with table saw and mitre gauge, tail stock holder and parts, lathe tool rest, all original papers, manual and hardcover book.
Machine has no wear, damage or dings. Paint on the aluminum parts of stand are flaking but no electrolysis or corrosion.
