Re: Greetings!

There it is... I like the vac attachment point. But for that price, I think I could build something myself ;)

Re: Greetings!

Ahhh I thought it was something to protect (from) the exposed blade under the table. Heh, I grew up using dad's big table saw with no top guard, long before they made us use one in high school shop class :)

That part under the table seems way more sketchy to me...

Re: Greetings!

So what's this blade guard for the table saw that I was reading about on another thread? Don't recall ever seeing one on this, sounds like a good idea though.

Re: Greetings!

Thanks for that link, great info! Serial is 286551, so yeah, that puts it in Nov/Dec 54. Amazing that parts are still available for these!

Dad also dropped off this book... he must have kept it stored somewhere super-safe because it's in absolutely pristine condition:

Re: Greetings!

Correction: 50s-vintage! Serial 286551 makes it a 1954, according to the handy chart.

Greetings!

Well my dad just passed his 60s-vintage Mark V on to me. I've done some maintenance and repairs on it for him, oh, probably a couple decades ago, and always admired it... and now it's mine.

Probably going to give it a bit of a tune-up before I put it to use, so I'll be browsing this section for ...
